UKVIED is leading this ambitious project aiming to collaborate with the Vietnam Ministry of Education and Training to turn English into the official second language by 2050.
Community Language Competence
To properly announce English as a second language spoken in the communities, 80% to 95% of local residents should use English at basic communication in daily activities. This project will increase the balance between English and Vietnamese by aiming to reach 40% by 2035.
Life-long investment
Investment in Education should consider 'Generation' as the measurement for its implication and success. This project believes in the introduction of continuous generations who are fluent at using English will contribute to the development of English as a second national language of Vietnam.
Teaching and Training approaches
The project launches its Teaching sector to Nursery level inviting the participation of infants and toddlers from 0 month to 5 years old, approaching English as the native language. Besides, the project starts Training teachers who can teach English at the mother tongue level, via the special designed course: Teaching English as a Mother-tongue Language (TEML).
